Salvage Design Company
Old habits die hard, and sometimes they become new companies. Before opening Salvage Design Company, Heather Roth braved eighteen years of blistering cold Northeast winters, traveled to six of the seven continents, lived on a ship at sea for four months, circumnavigated the globe and received a bachelor’s degree from the second oldest college in the United States. She tried hard not to become an artist – working as a marketing researcher, television developer, general contractor, and novelist all while supporting her unshakable habit of repurposing the old and tattered into the new and fabulous. Heather finally surrendered and created Salvage Design Studio in 2010, and has been creating original art and furniture from reclaimed wood and well-worn words ever since. Each piece is individually sourced from barns, back alleyways and salvage yards around the country, with a proclivity for featuring curios from the artist’s childhood stomping grounds of coastal Maine.
